KRISTIAN SCHMIDT

 

Kristian Schmidt is a fashion and wildlife photographer and producer. His father was theatre producer Lars Schmidt and his stepmother Ingrid Bergman. He was born in New York City, grew up in Paris, and moved to Tokyo where he worked in the television industry.

 

In 2000, Kristian founded 'Kamisol', a production company and produced over 150 music videos that earned him two Grammy awards. He spent 10 years directing and producing TV shows, music videos and commercials. In 2013, his visually arresting photographs of Whale Sharks went viral. This critically acclaimed project captivated the media and featured in over 200 magazines and newspapers globally.

 

In recent years Kristian’s photography has been on exhibition at some of the most prestigious venues worldwide including Milk Studios in New York City, Art Basel Miami, the Cannes Film Festival, Opera Gallery London and Art Monaco.

Through his photographic projects Kristian is active in wildlife conservation and awareness. Kristian hopes his pictures convey the synergy between wildlife and humans.
